January 2013, Agoge Solutions was opened in Las Vegas for people of all ages to receive health and wellness recommendations that were easily integrated into their current lifestyle...
February 2020, we relocated to Southern California...
We now provide private consultations by appointment only at our San Diego office, through video conference, and by telephone. Our weight loss and wellness programs combine a nutritious daily meal plan with fitness routines, stress management techniques, and wide variety of online and mobile tools.
Our objective is to teach you a set of skills to use the rest of your life by providing education on nutrition, preventative health, proper portion sizes, whole food recipes, and great tasting healthy alternatives to some of your favorite foods. Our F.I.T. (Food Inspired Transformation) Meal Plans will introduce you to foods that accelerate your wellness or weight loss goals, instead of simply counting calories.
At Agoge Solutions, we get to the root of the problem and create a step-by-step plan for lasting lifestyle changes with our Five-Pronged Approach: hydration, nutrition, fitness, stress management, and sleep. We are equipped with extensive knowledge in nutrition, personal training, health coaching, and preventive health care. Drawing on these skills and knowledge of different dietary theories, we will help you create a personalized “road map to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
OUR APPROACH IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER…
At Agoge Solutions we practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that we look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship contribute to your eating habits? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? Does your daily menu provide enough of the vitamins and nutrients your body desperately needs, or are you chronically malnourished? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.
HOW WE GOT STARTED…
My Name is Natalie Boles and I have been in the Health & Fitness Industry for most of my life. I have been helping people reach their goal weight as a personal trainer and nutrition consultant for over 25 years. However, as a military wife and emotional eater, I turned to processed foods and fast food for comfort each time my husband deployed overseas. During one of his extended deployments, my consistent bad habits led to a 40-pound weight gain and chronic digestive disease named GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease).
All it took was making a few changes to my diet for the weight and GERD to disappear. I was amazed that certain foods could cure my symptoms faster and more efficiently than prescription medications and wanted to learn more. I attended an 18-month certification course with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York, learning over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
After multiple deployments overseas, my husband was diagnosed with TBI (traumatic brain injury) and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). He had an uphill battle both medically and mentally, had countless procedures, and underwent multiple surgeries: to include an eight-hour brain surgery (craniotomy and cervical laminectomy). Because there were so many complications early on, I went through the Department of Veterans Affairs National Veteran Caregiver Training Program to get certified and help him at home. After several years and successful rehabilitation, we made it our life's mission to pay it forward and in 2013 opened a small Health Center with Teaching Kitchen in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Soon after, my 83-year-old grandmother was released directly from the hospital into my care. She arrived with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, low iron, pain, and several other health issues. She was also wheelchair dependent, severely overweight, unable to sleep without pills, and had been a Type 2 Diabetic for decades. I immediately removed milk, butter, cheese, pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, bread, soda, and processed sugars from her daily diet; and added in lots of organic leafy greens, organic vegetables, organic fruit/nuts/berries, pasture-raised poultry and eggs, wild-caught fish, grass-fed beef, and water in their place. We not only worked on proper portion sizes and healthy alternatives to some of her favorite foods, but also created lots of yummy meals together using real food instead of food-like-products.
By the time she left my home five weeks later, her health had significantly improved: she had lost over 26lbs with no exercise, reversed her type 2 diabetes, was able to stop taking multiple medications, and was walking with a walker. We only shopped at Whole Foods and her grocery bill for five weeks was $197. She is the reason our F.I.T. Meal Plan was originally created ~thanks grandma!
